HORTUS supports multiple user roles, each with different capabilities.

• Can browse public content:
  • projects
  • events
  • experts
  • marketplace resources
  • news
• Cannot create or interact with restricted features

• Can:
  • manage personal profile
  • receive notifications
  • use messaging
  • save favourites
  • access personal workspace

• Can:
  • create research resources
  • propose metadata formats
  • create projects, events, and news (where permitted)
  • submit items for moderation
  • track lifecycle status

• Can:
  • manage project pages
  • organise events
  • manage members
  • curate linked content
  • oversee contributions

• Can:
  • approve or reject submissions
  • manage moderation workflows
  • ensure quality and consistency

Creating an account does not automatically grant contributor permissions.

To activate advanced roles:

• Register or sign in
• Contact the service desk (service-desk@itserr.it)
• Request the appropriate role
• Explain your intended activities (e.g. publishing, project management)

If certain features are not visible:

• Verify role activation before assuming the feature is unavailable
