  * A clickable title, which allows access to the detail page;
  * A text excerpt, in which the keywords are highlighted;
  * The total number of results found.

The layout is simple and uniform, ensuring clear and immediate readability.

The search system for the *Decretum Gratiani* provides a set of progressive filters that dynamically expand based on the user’s selections.

==== General structure ====
Before selecting the *Pars*, the following general filtering fields are always available:

  * **Free text search** → a free text field that allows keyword or specific string searches within the corpus;
  * **Author** → allows the search to be restricted to a specific author (if available);
  * **From / To** → allows users to define a reference chronological range.

After these initial fields, the main **PARS** filter is presented, which determines the structure of the subsequent fields.

After selecting **PARS I**, the system displays the following filters:

  * Distinctio  
  * Dictum  
  * Capitulum

**PARS II** presents a different structure, articulated into more complex thematic levels.

This organization reflects the subdivision of the second part of the corpus, which follows the logic of *causae* and *quaestiones*, typical of Gratian’s casuistic approach.

Each selection dynamically determines the subsequent available fields.  
Once the search criteria are set and the search is launched using the **Search** button, the corresponding results are displayed.  
If no results match the specified criteria, the system displays the message **“No results found”**.

By clicking on a result, the user accesses the detail page, which displays:

  * The title and the full text of the selected excerpt;
  * An introductory message guiding interaction with the text  
    (“Select some text to add notes or suggest corrections”);
  * The **Notes** and **Export** buttons, positioned in the upper right section.

From this page, users can read the full text, add annotations, or export the data.
